Adopted July, 2024 by the Falcone Festival Board
Adopted for public dissemination on Festival website JG/AZ

The Leonard Falcone International Euphonium & Tuba Festival is committed to providing a safe Festival experience for all competitors, judges, and other attendees.

The Festival board has put the following policies in place to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being:

The Festival has a zero-tolerance policy regarding harassment. Harassment includes (but is not limited to) intimidation, insults or ridicule, interference with a person’s preparation or performance, discrimination based on a person’s identity, and unwanted sexual attention. Anyone at the Festival who engages in any such behavior will be asked to leave (and possibly banned from future Festivals). Should an attendee experience any kind of harassment, they are encouraged to report the incident(s) to any of the board members designated for each Festival so that the offending party can be dealt with appropriately.

  1. Any lessons arranged by Festival attendees will take place in the practice rooms at the Blue Lake Student Activities Center, which have windows into the hallways. Any lessons given at the Festival should be reported to Scott Myckowiak at the merchandise table in the Blodgett Lobby. Competitors may not have lessons with Festival judges or artists until they are finished competing. An adult chaperone must be present for any lesson involving attendees under 18 years of age. Attendees who violate this policy may asked to leave and/or banned from future Festivals.
  1. There will be no alcohol served at any Festival event involving competitors. It is not permitted to offer or provide alcohol to attendees under 21 years of age at non-Festival events. Attendees who violate this policy may be asked to leave and/or banned from future Festivals.
  1. Festival competitors without cars will be transported by thoroughly vetted Falcone Festival drivers. If a competitor requests it, the Festival will recruit a second Festival worker (of any specified gender) to ride in the car.
  1. Per Blue Lake policy, Festival attendees will wear name badges during all Festival events for easy identification. Attendees found without their badge will be asked to put one on. People (other than concert audiences) who attend Festival events without a badge should be reported to the Festival workers.
