Leonard Falcone was a consummate performing artist, able to expand the horizons of his instrument and set the standards for his generation. He possessed the pedagogical skills to maintain extraordinary artistic standards while touching the lives of countless young people.

Leonard Falcone was truly a world-class euphonium artist and his reputation for excellence touched all aspects of his career. His solo performances, his bands, and his students were all characterized by his singular dedication to the highest standards.

Leonard Falcone was born in Roseto-Valfortore, Italy, in 1899 and immigrated to America in 1915. In 1927 Michigan State University appointed him Director of Bands and Professor of Baritone Horn.

The Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, founded in 1986, has emerged as the premier annual competition in the world. Its goals include solo performance artistry, the education and development of young players, the enhancement of solo repertoire, and greater public awareness and appreciation for these instruments. Past competition winners are found throughout the United States and across the globe in prominent performance and teaching positions.

All proceeds go to support the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival.
